COVID-19 Community Message 3/19/2020
UPDATED: 3/19/2020, 6:00 p.m.
MESD Community,
We know that the closure of schools is an additional challenge to each of us in these trying times. We urge each of you to embrace practices of self-care and prioritize the health of your loved ones and yourselves. We have been working swiftly to provide answers to some of the most pressing questions.
Compensation March 16- April 28th
Employees who were scheduled to work for the period of March 16 - April 28th will be compensated for their scheduled hours, including temporary employees. If you have any questions about compensation please contact HR.
Outdoor School Seasonal Employees
We are working quickly to gather answers to questions about compensation from Oregon State University which manages funding for Outdoor School programs statewide. We understand that this may be a hardship for some and we will share answers when they are available.
Work Expectations March 30th-April 28th
Although schools and buildings are closed between March 30th and April 28th, employees may be needed to support the requirements of the governor’s closure order and may be contacted by their supervisors.
Future Updates
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this changing situation. As an education service agency our goal is to support all students and districts and to minimize disruptions to learning. Clearly, this crisis is requiring us to operate differently.
We will be in touch regularly with more information as the situation continues to unfold and develop.
