What are the high school diploma requirements in Oregon?

Students need to obtain the following credits, and additional requirements, to receive a diploma in Oregon.

English / Language Arts – 4 credits
Math – 3 credits; Algebra I and above*
Science – 3 credits; Scientific inquiry and lab experiences**
Social Sciences – 3 credits
Physical Education – 1 credit
Health – 1 credit
Career and Technical Education / Arts / Second Language – 3 credits
Electives – 6 credits
Total Credits: 24

*Applied and integrated courses aligned to standards can meet credit requirements.
**Lab experiences can take place outside of the school in field-based experiences.

Students also need to demonstrate proficiency in Essential Skills and meet the Personalized Learning requirements.

Essential Skills: Reading, Writing, Apply Math.
Personalized Learning Requirements: Education Plan and Profile, Extended Application, Career-Related Learning Experiences, Career-Related Learning Standards (embedded in Essential Skills).
