Young Child Wellness Council
Multnomah Project LAUNCH has a Young Child Wellness Council to provide guidance, enhance the network/system building, and to serve as "ambassadors" for young child wellness. The YCWC also serves as the "Health and Wellness'" committee of the Multnomah County Early Childhood Council.
The YCWC is comprised of people who are engaged in a range of areas that impact children, including physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development. In addition to service providers, participants include representatives of public and private philanthropy, the Commission on Children, Families and Community, culturally specific organizations, and the Oregon LAUNCH grant.
In addition to the YCWC, Multnomah Project LAUNCH is creating a quarterly parent discussion group that will discuss issues related to parenting, child development and health. Their conversation will help the YCWC know about issues they can address through the grant and in other ways.
For more information on the Young Child Wellness Council and parent group, email Elana Emlen.
