Knott Creek School
Knott Creek School provides educational programs for students in grades K-8 with IEP's who have persistent behavior challenges. Students are taught social and academic skills and strategies that will allow them to be successful in school as well as the community and workplace. We serve students from Multnomah County and other school districts by contract.
Program Structure
Knott Creek School tracks student growth via the reduction in target behaviors as students learn new skills in place of challenging behaviors. There are four phases of growth with clear academic and behavioral expectations. Students move through phases as they demonstrate that they are increasing their use safe coping skills in place of challenging behaviors sustained over a period of time. The ultimate goal is to return to a regular school placement.
