![]() The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International has awarded Multnomah Education Service District its Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award for having met or exceeded the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability. This is the second award the district’s Business Services department, led by Director Doana Anderson, has received for excellence in financial reporting. In August, the district received the Award of Achievement from the Governmental Finance Officers Association. The district was recognized for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending 2015. The Certificate of Excellence (COE) award confirms the school business office’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency. Recognition through the COE program can help strengthen a district’s presentation for bond issuance statements and promotes a high level of financial reporting. The Certificate was awarded after a panel of professionals determined that the CAFR met the high standards of the program and “demonstrated a constructive spirit of full disclosure.” Business Services Director Doana Anderson was pleased with the news and expressed that the CAFR “could not have been created without the dedication and diligence of the business services team,” and “represents a significant accomplishment” in the agency’s accounting and financial reporting efforts. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and is presented annually by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. Congratulations Business Services staff! |
