Child Safety & Injury
How Adults Can Help Reduce Injuries in Children
Taking care of children and looking out for their safety is one of the greatest challenges parents face. Accidental injury is the number one killer of school age children. Knowing how to protect children from being injured is one of the best tools parents can use to keep their children safe. As a way to share information on the steps parents can take to make a positive difference, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published materials on leading causes of childhood injuries and prevention tips. These Fact Sheets, available in the links below, are a great resource for parents and teachers to learn more about childhood safety.
