Explore Portland Guidebooks
Our guide-books are designed to introduce some of Portland’s most popular destinations to people with communication disorders or other disabilities. Our goal at MESD is to help make our beautiful city accessible to everybody regardless of their disability.
These PDF guides will help you access the sights and sounds of Portland by using pictures and text to prepare the reader for their visit. The books emphasize transitions, proper behavior and safe spots for students to go if they are feeling anxious.
We invite you to come and sight-see with us! The reader will become more familiar with their surrounding by touring through the virtual guide-books. We hope you will feel more at-ease and secure by knowing what to expect from your destination before you even get there.
