Hospital School Program Related Services
Multnomah ESD’s Hospital School Program team includes a Speech Language Pathologist and School Psychologist / Behavior Specialist who help meet students’ needs and honor the related services outlined in their IEPs.
Special Education Speech and Language Services provide direct and consultation services to local districts and Multnomah ESD Hospital School Program according to needs determined by the IEP team or district request. Services are provided in a variety of models depending on student need. Students may be seen on a one-to-one, small group or full class basis. Some services are given within the classroom setting and others in a pullout environment. Service may be designed to serve those district students located in placements outside of the local district. Consultation and collaboration with the IEP team is also an important part of service delivery.
School Psychologists are qualified members of the school teams who provide direct and consultation services to local districts and Multnomah ESD Hospital School Program. The school psychologist supports students’ ability to learn and teachers’ ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.

Special Education TOSA
Kayla Miller kmiller@mesd.k12.or.us Cell: 503-560-6210 Kayla got her start in teaching while living in Boston, where she taught Special Education in an inclusion classroom during the school year and served as a principal in an inclusion summer school during my summer breaks. After thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, she and her husband/hiking partner fell in love with the west coast and formally moved to Portland a few years ago. Kayla loves working with the Hospital School Program and Wynne Watts because everyday brings a new challenge. As the Special Education Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), she works with the teachers at every site, so she's constantly learning from those who know the sites and situations best and providing support when possible. |
School Psychologist
Kelci Everett keverett@mesd.k12.or.us Kelci started as an elementary Special Education teacher in Friday Harbor, Washington. She taught Extended School Year and worked at an inclusive, community based summer program. After teaching for awhile, she took a teaching position in Munich, Germany as a Learning Specialist at an international school. She is originally from Oregon and excited to be back in the area after finishing her degree in School Psychology. Kelci is new to the Hospital School Program and Wynne Watts this year and, as the School Psychologist, will be working in collaboration with all of the staff at each different site. She is very excited to be part of the great teams that support our students and is learning more about each program everyday! |

Originally from Dallas, Texas and now living in Portland, Oregon, Joseph is enjoying the many colors the Pacific Northwest has to offer in their plant life and the incredible food! He is an avid gamer (tabletop, board, and video), college sports fan, and loves attending concerts.
